Visual Soft, Inc is seeking qualified  candidates to work on our efforts with a Prime for their end customer, a federal agency in Washington, DC

Position:Senior Network Administrator- MUST be a US Citizen (should be able to obtain a Pubic Trust)
Location:  on our project with a Prime for a classified federal agency, Washington, DC (Onsite work, no remote work allowed)

Compensation: Open based on qualifications, experience and certifications

  • Manage and maintain the customer network, including managing the routing and switching environment; includes adding routes, adding VLANs, adding a switch, replacing a switch.
  • Make firewall rule requests to the customer’s network organization
  • Manage and maintain the customer Wi-Fi environment
  • Participate in the annual assessment on ports and protocols enabled on the customer network
  • Ensure the deployment of patches, or hot fixes, to network infrastructure devices
  • Work in a rapid paced environment, work independently, and lead other team members in doing the same
  • Maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other administrators, customers and engineers
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly automating operations
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Apply security settings and other commercial security best practices
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 10 years’ experience, or a Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience. Additional experience, and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Customer interface experience
  • Extensive experience with network devices and network monitoring, including switches, routers and Wi-Fi devices
  • Experience using Cisco Prime for Network Monitoring
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers
  • Working knowledge of NetApp and other storage devices
  • Scripting experience
  • System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration
  • System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools
  • Application of security settings and other commercial security best practices
  • Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining virtual and cloud environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
Any DoD active SECRET or Top Secret clearances are highly preferred
Our standard benefits include: Our standard benefits include 3 weeks of Paid time off (PTO that includes sick leave). Floating and holidays expire at the end of every year of service of an employee. All full time employees or w-2 employees with no benefits will be eligible to participate in company's 401k program after 90 days of employment with a company match of 4%, immediate vesting.  In addition,  all w-2 employees are eligible to be part of company's profit sharing, no employee contributions required.
