Job description:
We are seeking a motivated Mid-Level Database Developer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade databases supporting mission-critical applications within a classified environment. This position is 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL, and requires an active Top Secret clearance.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SQL development, database design and administration (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB), and automation/scripting in an Agile/Scrum development setting.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases to support application and analytics workloads.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers for performance and reliability.
Perform database administration (DBA) functions, including backup/recovery, tuning, patching, and replication.
Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and analysts to ensure efficient data modeling and integration across systems.
Automate database tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripts to improve deployment and monitoring processes.
Support data migration and ETL processes between environments and systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with DoD and government data standards.
Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Document database schemas, data flows, and operational procedures.
